D.A.N.I. House
D.A.N.I House is a non-profit 501(c)3 community program, attacks the problems faced by Paterson, NJ youth head on. We help them build healthy self esteem levels through our programs. Many studies have found a link between low self-esteem and many of the problems Paterson youth are facing. Suicide, violence, teen pregnancy, gang participation, HIV and other STD’s, poor school performance; all of these epidemics has been linked to low self esteem.
Our program serve gifted inner-city youth that have been placed at a disadvantage by circumstances out of their control, in many cases their upbringing or unpleasant surroundings. Many of the talented young artists are from poverty stricken, single parent homes. Some are homeless, with no place to live or practice their art. Some have been abused. Some have been caught up in gangs. Others have been caught up in the juvenile justice system for selling drugs.
We give them the opportunity to excel in artistic arenas where they have a natural advantage. As their skills in singing, dancing, modeling, acting, fashion design, music production and cartooning improve their self esteem levels raise. We also offer academic tutoring and life skills coaching to help the youth improve their lives in general.
Avoiding the crime, violence and STD’s in the streets has been a struggle for some of our talented youth and they see no way out, D.A.N.I House attacks the problems through giving them hope, D.A.N.I House saves lives!! HELP US CONTINUE TO HELP PATERSON’S YOUTH!
